Social Security Number Privacy Policy

Under Michigan’s Social Security Number Privacy Act, Carnegie Institute takes the mandatory steps concerning social security numbers of employees, students, and graduates and those collected from the ordinary course of business. Particular attention is given to the confidentiality of the SSN, prohibition of unlawful disclosure of the SSN, limiting access to documents that contain the SSN, proper disposal of documents that contain the SSN, and penalties for violation of the SSN privacy policy.
